Max1636
This is my MK3 Golf GL 2.0. Mechman wants $800 to build a 320 Amp alternator for this car, which I may not even own for another year so my solution is to mount 2 of these 225 Amp ones I can get from the US for $250 each. Currently I have just one which is the more silver looking alt in the image above. The second is the original stock one which will not be used. As you can see I have used one factory mount per alternator. I have mocked up how the alternators could be mounted to the car. I thought I could just make a small piece of metal to link the two mounts together and get a longer belt. Can anybody see anything wrong with this setup? Also how do I wire the factory wiring harness to the ECU since there is only 1 connector and I have 2 alternators.
