Kwik_Cutty88
Wire them to a garage door opener or leds Btw panels look good! Thanks man. I was sort of thinking about that, that would be bad ass. Maybe when I add a different sub amp, wire one as a turn on switch? hm.... 1988 Olds Cutlass Supreme Classic Brougham. Kwik_Cutty88
1 update coming up! So i finished the last layer of glass and got both pods in bondo. Let the pictures begin! Last layer of glass, drying in the Carolina sun Sanded out the rough spots, trimmed the pod so the grill sits flush. Im gonna trim it even more so it barley sticks up at all. Test fit. Looks good, but I will have to end up trimming the sail panel a tiny, tiny bit. Oh well, If i do it right, shouldn't look too bad. First coat of bondo, was chilly that night, so made a little drying oven. I got one sanded and primed last night, and am working on the other. I think they are turning out decent so far. 1988 Olds Cutlass Supreme Classic Brougham. Kwik_Cutty88
Well, I finished the 6x9 pods at the end of March. They turned out like absolute crap. Not even really worth taking a picture of. They felt strong, but they bubbled, wrinkled and cracked. I'm leaving them in for the time being, but now I'm going to make pods to hold a 6.5" and a tweeter. I've already cut out the speaker frame, and the back panel. I just have to make legs to space it out, and start to wrap it in real fleece this time, not an old cotton tee shirt. First though, I really needed to address the leaky sun roof. Hmmm....what could this be??? Ordered the pan and glass seal kit from Gbodyparts.com. Much better quality than I expected. Now just need to find time to put them in. My voltage meter took a super long time to ship, but it finally got here with no damage. Also should be ordering Jegs two chambered mufflers (same as Flowmaster Super 40's) some new exhaust hangers, and chrome tips. Another one of my hangers broke so I decided its time to cut the exhaust off at one of the existing bends and give it a nice sound. Also here is the finished voltage meter install. First I cut a hole out where the gear indicator used to be. Then cut out a piece of plastic and put 3 layers of %30 window tint that was in the garage. Here is the final result. Now you see it Now you don't A few weeks later it was like Chirtmas in June, so I'll get straight to the photos. My Birthday was June 2nd, so with birthday money and a recent pay day I took some stuff off the "to buy" list. First up, the UPS man showed up with a nice box from Summit. Crazy fast shipping, ordered the goods on a monday Monday night and the box showed up that Wednesday afternoon! The tool of choice, trusty steak knife. New poly motor mounts from Energy Suspension. Those Napa rubber mounts just aren't gonna cut it. Also from Energy Suspension, complete poly control arm bushing kit. Stage 8 locking header bolts, after I found a header bolt laying in the driveway.. Advance curve kit, gonna try this for a little snappier throttle response New KYB rear shocks, haven't heard anything bad about these online, and I really really needed new rear shocks I thought that was it...then Jeg's came with a birthday present from my parents  New 2 chambered mufflers (flow master super 40's) There is supposed to be 2 more boxes from Jeg's coming that will complete my exhaust. I'm gonna cut the exhaust where it starts to dump behind the rear tires and put some chrome tips on. All these goodies, not to mention I still have the sunroof seal I have to put in. My Exhaust finally got done about 2 weeks ago, and man does it sound good. The cool thing is you guys get to see the finished product in a matter of minutes, but it took my dad and I 6 hours to be able to hear and see the finished project. Anyways, sorry for not taking any pictures during the progress, its hard to take pictures and work. We basically cut the exhaust at one of the existing bends of the Jeg's kit and then made up some new hangers and added stainless steel band clamps to hold on the 2.5" slash cut tips. Also finished it off with Jegs two chambered mufflers (pretty much Flowmaster Super 40's). And the best part, the way it sounds... 1988 Olds Cutlass Supreme Classic Brougham.
