wellington
Ok so I have had the 4045 for years. It only has 2 high pass channels so I got a 4 channel amp and this 6020 thinking it would do 60w rms or more, given the XM lines' reputation (and my own personal experience) The lowest gain setting is 2v which is what my head unit outputs. Both amps were set to no gain. I did not change any of the wiring or placement of the amps. I simply swapped out the 4045 for the 6020 and noticed it's not as loud as the 4045. I was only using the 4045 in the high pass channels and they were not bridged. The 6020 board is a cheap looking green, while the 4045 is the nicer light brown. Was the 6020 a later model or something??? I am not an expert on amp internals but it looks like there is a lot more of the mosfets in the 4045, and they are all big. 2010 HHR LT - DNX 6160 - sony xec-700 - sony xm-4040 for door mids - XM-6020 for tweets in a-pillar - saz1500d v1 - VVME RD-12 1.75 f^3 32hz guru and president of the "cheap asses trying to beat up the block with bargain bin woofers" club
