box design tips

Ok so a few box building questions. I have downloaded torres box calculater and played with a bit but my inexpiernce leaves me blank in some areas. But heres my goals. I have a jl wo8 i believe its a 8 ohm sub and it will soon be powered off a jl 500/1. It seems to like the 200rms its being fed now off my sounstream 500.4 ( rear channels bridged) but its in a sealed box and i wish to go ported to get the most out of the sub. And need a few pointers on how to setup the box and sub to safely handle that kind of power but thats just the temporary build. My end goal is a 4th order blow through( single cab shortbed s10) and my question on that is how do i figure up the box size for it so i can decide on subs. Im partial to no brands just on a shoestring budget. Goal is to have a hair trick daily sub set up with vocal to match. 15s wont fit in the bed so im stuck with 2 12's or 3 10s im still in the planning stages and i can get my demensions on my next day off. Just hopeing someone can point me in the right direction
