I need help with finding a 10" sub for a sealed enclosure. I already have a .75 cubic foot box(I would prefer to keep using it, but I can build another to accommodate the new sub. I ran an old Alpine type S in that box. But It just stopped working after years of abuse, I thought that sub hit for being older. But I want something better. I've been looking through subs and I'm on a 200 dollar budget.

Keep in mind I drive a miata and am limited on space and options. /:

Any ideas and options for a 10 inch subwoofer would be most appreciated. :huh2:

do you have room for a ported box? you're losing a lot of potential with a sealed one. you'd be surprised at the sound difference between a properly designed ported box and a sealed box.

also, is that 1000rms?

I believe it's peak.

And I'm working with a 92 miata trunk. What would be a good sub for ported anyway? I may be able to fit a ported box in there if it's custom.

model number of said amp? peak numbers for everything car audio related (amplifiers/speakers) are completely useless. its just literally a number.

i gotcha. if you cant really find the room for a ported box, dont worry about it. but in case you are still wanting to pursue it, you can post up usable dimensions of your trunk.

Well, the only problem with finding room for a ported box, is that the trunk isn't flat. I don't have a problem with losing all my trunk space because I never use it.

I'm not sure what the model number the amp is. Sadly, my car is in the shop due to brakes issues.

^ I believe that shows how the trunk isn't flat.

do you know what the brand is? i can try to find it by that, if its recently new. (meaning, not like 5 years old).

i gotcha with the pic. but yeah i'd still get dimensions whenever your car comes back from the shop. judging by the picture, you may be able to fit a decent ported 10 in there.

I was looking at a SA-10 from Sundown audio. But any suggestions for a subwoofer? Or opinion about the SA-10?

I would love to go with a ported box, I have only had sealed in my cars.

The amp is old, and it's honestly probably time for an upgrade but it hasn't failed me yet so I figure I will stick with it for now.
