blackandgoldl69 Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 im triying to install my amp in my 93 s10. I have installed tons of amps before and never had a problem.i got the power and remote wire hooked up and made sure the ground wire was on the frame. i turned on the headunit and the amp ligh came on. So i wen to plug in the rca cables and as soon as i touch the rca to the socket i saw it spark and i got a weird noise through all the speakers in the truck also smelt a burning smell. What the hell could i have possibly done to cause this?
andygardner Posted May 5, 2013 Report Posted May 5, 2013 What happened was you plugged your rcas in while they were hot. Is your headunit pioneer? If so you probably blew the pico fuse. Which would cause a bad whine. As for the burning smell idk.
Guest Posted May 5, 2013 Report Posted May 5, 2013 NEVER have the headunit on when plugging/unplugging rca's
