2002 mazda protege, RE Audio, Kenwood, Alpine, Hifonics, Knucoceptz

first off lets start out with my car!

its a 2002 mazda protege es, 2.0L 5 speed. it has 184000 kms got her a few months back as my daily driver. paid 3700 from a dealer, which is a good price seeing as its worth 4300. iv had to replace the timing belt, valve cover gasket and the oil sensor so far. but just minor stuff, the build will be done over the summer as im 21 and in the middle of buying a house. which iv worked my ass off to get to this point. iv only got a few pictures of the car will upload more soon.

The gear i will be using i the build is:

Kenwood KDC-X496

Alpine type s 6.5 components (front and rear)

2-RE Audio MX 12's (got super cheap because 1 was blown)

Not sure what im gunna run for an amp for the subs yet

Hifonics ZRX600.4 (mids and highs)

Knuconceptz 4 gauge karma ss 4 channel wiring

Skyhigh 0 gauge wire (when i get the cash to order 2 rolls)

also be running just 1 sub for now with an extra battery

Future plans:

The 2 RE's sealed off into the cabin

H/O alternator

Recone both subs to dual 4 ohm coils so i can run at 1 ohm

2 batteries (unsure what im gunna use)

18 inch Rx8 rims

Cat back exhaust

Cold air intake

Tinted windows (first o the list this summer)

And of course sound deadner

Im lucky because the house im buying has an insulated garage with cement floors so no more working outside in the elements!

Any protege owners feel free to give me pointers! Can definatly use them on this build. I already found ot running the wire is a pain in the ass. There aint much for gromets on the firewall good thing i found a place to drill 2 holes big enough for 0 gauge.

i hear ya, ive been on my rebuild for about 3 months now and all i have done is remounting the amps to my amp rack

lol iv been slacking on my explorer build, now since i got the car the stock speakers just arent cutting it so the truck is on hold till i get the car done. haha

got an update, well the deck has been installed for a few months now. soldered and heat shrunk all conections. got the deck $100 off pretty decent deck 3 4 volt preouts. and i like kenwood decks

also picked up my amp this afternoon. its a hifonics zrx600.4 does 75rms at 4 ohms. 150 at 2 ohms.

got my second set of components. there alpine type s 6.5.

i will be starting to put it in tomorrow hopefully if all goes good i can have it all hooked up. will be adding pictures of progress

so far today has been a slow day, i only managed to get the power wire ran. i had to drive out to a buddies house to get my wire. i left it in my truck when i took it to show him. im going to look at a house to buy this evening so i might just run my rcas the call her a day. well heres some pictures of the wiring soldered and ran. sorry i used my phone and the car is very dirty lol

soldered and heat shrunk the wire then put the sleeves over the wire. was hard because of the heat shrink had to muscle it on.

drilled a hole through the fire wall. one thing i hate about mazdas is there is no graments on the firewall you can ''safely'' put wire through.

had to take the battery out to get the drill in there, actually had alot of room once the battery was out.

heres where the wire comes out beside the clutch pedal, i made sure the wire wouldnt interfer with the cluch pedal when the clutch is pressed in.

zip tied and shoved it under the fuse block in the car. then ran it through to the trunk.
