ok working on the front end of my 95 neon. well I'm trying to drop the control arms off cause I need new ball joints.

the front bolts (which pokes through to the front of the car) is mated to the bolt. I've tried everything I can think of I took a map torch and got the insert exposed but I can't seem to break the bond with the bolt. the sad part is that until I do that I can't get my control arm off. my next step will be a chisel and heavy hammer. but I'd rather not ruin the bolt if I don't have to. any ideas? HELP!

Where do you live??
If you live in a region like me where they use salt on the roads in winter time. Goodluck getting those bolts out.
Had the same issue on my 03 Mitsubishi. 40K on the dash and the rust literally welded hose bolts together.

What I ended up doing was impacting the living crap out of those bolts
And then what happened was the bolts themselves broke loose from thesubframe (were still attached to the bolt)
Then Had to cut open the subframe and reweld new bolts.

So cutting them with a saw right from the start might not be a bad idea if you can open up the frame and get some stuff welded

holy crap dude are you serious? o..O I live in Iowa. I just went and got some torch blades from Milwaukee for the sawz all. Man I hate to think of having to reweld the frame stuff... but if I have to, so be it... I bought my welder for a reason! :D

I've decided that when it comes to chasis work out here a saw all and a plasma cutter are worthy tools to keep around lol

my cousin taught me something that I should have thought of on my own but didn't. turn the feed on your wire welder way down... and the voltage way up... and it basically becomes a redneck plasma cutter. used it my bolts are now out with minimal effort and minimal damage. basically you want to melt your primary metal aka your bolt away. if you spray the area around it with wd or make it dirty your Molten metal won't stick. very slick lil trick lol. there's a technique to it.
