Are you local to us? We are always willing to share tips and help others out. Thats what sets us apart from alot of other places. My Blazer is a traditional body drop and I just got my motor last night actually. Carbed 350. Needs to be gone over and spruced up, but it will be awsome. firefighter5325 Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 it would be awesome if i was local but i live in nc long ways off iv just been reading forum after forum for the past three days the only thing i am getting worried about is the bedn from the front clip to the side rails im trying to leave the cab as stock as possible but all of them i see everybody keeps basicall building a new floor any way if thats the case i will jus go traditional the only reason i dont like tradional is matting up al the interior peices.

On this, the frame was cut some and will be boxed in more and the florr board was cut some. Not alot and it will probally not be visable at all under the carpet. The front body mount was sectioned, lowered and redone on the stock clip to allow the rockers to lay out...... firefighter5325 Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 man those pics are exactly what i was looking for f\/(kin awesome that doesnt look hard at just lay the crossmember flat cut where the frame rails flattten on the ground then trim of and plate all the bends. how much did yall have to raise the trans tunnel to get the 4l06e in there. i been reading some articals and i may swap my motor to a 5.3 or 6.0 im tired of taking forever on cold start-ups running a holley with no choke due to nitrous. the most expensive part of these swaps seems to be the electrical harness and the headers. but it would bence to hop in and crank on the first turn not have to worry about primeing the fuel pump and all that crap

As for the wiring, we have an expert on the LS1 that will be using the stock harnesses and intregrating it all to work perfectly. firefighter5325 Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 really so the only thing you had to cut was just the channel for the frame section that almost makes it worth it to switch the motor out, you have no idea how ready i am for my cab to get here. it was sopposed to get here friday but the yard hasnt shipped it yet coming out of indiana. keep up the great pics and ill try to get some pic of mine out to you as soon as i get started. just please keep me posted on any kind of surprise you guys run into.
firefighter5325 Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 just got off the phone and my cab ships out today (it was origanally from brazil) so itll probly get here tuesday ill probly call some local salvage yards and get some prices on a motor trans & ecu im hoping i can sell my intake carb alternator and msd ingniton system fuel pump gauges all that crap for enough to cover a good chunk of the swap where did yall get the headers from
