Mcmuffin's build log!

welp. my old S/N is i love spl which i created years ago and recently changed to mcmuffin (except this forum and another) but anywho. here is my daily driver build log. its mainly just testing and temporary for the moment. once i get everything in and going i will re-do everything correctly,

I have always wanted to do a very nice reliable and good sounding system with some fiberglass.

i have NEVER done any fiberglass before. this will be out of my zone. i have always taken my time with anything car audio related so this build will not be fast at all.

the equipment i currently have is listed below

Front: Sundown 100.4

Morel Titanium 6.5's

RF P1 tweets

Rear: Sundown 100.2

RF T1 coaxials

Sub: Sundown 1500

SSA Zcon 15

Head Unit: Ipad mini

Pioneer 800PRS

Processor: RF 360.3

Wire: Everything is Shok.

i wanted something SQL. somethiing to sound good and get decently loud when i need it to. which is why i chose the components i did.

Some things may change throughout the build, i may change the mids in front and rear and the sub. but thats about it. everything else will stay for now.

Anyway. Here we go with some pics! all the work was done by me and done by myself. except the RTA tuning.

Here is the mount i made for my ipad mini.

Stock cut out dash kit.

trimmed my mold up and glued it in place

added a little matt on the sides and top

Sanded it down

once that was dry and sanded i added another layer ( not shown) then i trimmed the matt that hung over the sides and added the body filler

once the first layer of filler dried i sanded it down then added another layer then sanded that down the best i could.

after that i added the spot filler

sanded that down and test fit the ipad

after that was done it was primed and painted.

Then i got my processor. the 360.3

After i got the amps in and 3sixty i was VERY anxious to get the ball rolling, so i made a amp rack that could hold just the 100.4 and 360.

HATED the outcome so i ripped it out the next day.

Prior to this build i deadened the trunk in Audiotechnix 80 mil and fatmat. which i covered up with the AT

then i made this temp amp rack with some leftover wood,

Also got the sub in yesterday,

at the top of my dash there is a small screen where the stock display was, i now made that into a pocket for my PRS

Again. this is my first fiberglassing job so dont poke fun lol

Well thank you. going to put some more work in this weekend! atleast start on the tweeter pods and re-paint the dash. possibly start on the box,
