Codyn422 Posted August 3, 2013 Report Posted August 3, 2013 So, i have recently considered building a wall for my subs that would take up my whole back seat of my car.... I would like the subs and port facing the front of the car with the port in the middle between the driver and passenger seat, unsure of sub placement still... i want it tuned for daily/spl, seeing as how this is my daily driver... I need 8ft3 maximum with a ported box for my sub's according to the manufacture.... I have 2 12" Memphis MOJOM3's 1,000rms each, gonna be investing in a bigger amp to fully power them soon.... I have the ability to build the box, i have built them before, BUT unfortunately i "lack" the knowledge/mathematical skill's to design one.... I have images in my head of how i would like to build it and kind of how to get started on it, BUT like i said i don't know how to design a box with a port....... Anyone willing to help me out with some tip's, info, pic's, or to even PM with me about this build I have in store, please do so!!!! Much appreciated!!!
WillPwn4Food Posted August 3, 2013 Report Posted August 3, 2013 Wall with 2 12's? If you can fit it throw them in the trunk. IMO a wall with 2 12's is kinda.... Lame. Lol. Now if you get 4 12's to do a wall, Hell yeah. Look up Torre's box calculator on here. it'll help you out amazingly. Codyn422 Posted August 3, 2013 Author Report Posted August 3, 2013 the thing is i wanna go as big as possible with the box to get maximum dim. and max airspace, and the trunk of my l-series Saturn isn't all that huge! all though my trunk is kind of deep, would it sound the same if the subs & port were placed on top, of subs on top and port somewhere else?
Codyn422 Posted August 6, 2013 Author Report Posted August 6, 2013 OK..... now i'm working on designing a box (located in the trunk), the subs and port would be facing inside the car with the back seat open (down) the subs would be on the sides and the port would be located in between them, im planning on it being a square/rectangle port..... my dimensions for this box are > > 37" wide, 16" high, 29.25" deep... the port dimensions would be, 11" high x 7" wide, port length/dept would be 10.15"....Tuned to 38hz for daily/spl!...... Before port and sub displacement the volume is 8.26 cubic feet... NOW.... My only concern/question is, is it safe/ok to have the subs and the port placed where they will be???
