Air space what matters?

Does a box have to be a nice square box like the majority of people do, or can my box have all kinds of crazy angles to get the volume it needs?

Could air flow be a problem?

Would it preform well?

Anyone have experience making something fit that probably wasn't meant to fit. lol.
