donovanbigd Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 just wondering if anyone knows how many amps the ax3000de pulls at full tilt? It is around 70% efficient at 1 ohm and produces 3000rms. The optimizer is a dc to dc converter and will turn my 14.4 volts into 16 or 17 volts but can only handle 90 amps at 16 volts. I guess any amp doing 3000 rms will pull around the same amps depending on the efficiency, can anybody help?
donovanbigd Posted September 14, 2013 Author Report Posted September 14, 2013 Sorry for the miss spell. It`s The Optimizer.
Guest Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 if you want to run 16v so bad, why not just upgrade your charging system instead of getting a dc to dc converter? you're going to need like 3 of those inverters running simultaneously. not worth it.
donovanbigd Posted September 14, 2013 Author Report Posted September 14, 2013 I have a dc 270 alternator, 2 kinetik 2400`s in the back and a shuriken under the hood. big 3 plus extra grounds under the hood. just want to get more out of the amp. had the hifonics collossus at 4 ohms on 1 15 inch re audio xxx running 2200 rms. Changing system and going with older us made us amps amps. Just need to know if a 3000 watt rms amp that is 70% efficient is still going to pull 300amps or because of the efficiency will not pull as many amps? By the way i have this in a 2006 orange Hyundai Tiburon SE.
Guest Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 you're gonna gain like 500-700 watts by wasting all that money. if you want more power, get a bigger amp. higher voltage = less amps for the same amount of watts.
donovanbigd Posted September 14, 2013 Author Report Posted September 14, 2013 Thanks. Did not answer my question but i do under stand. Don`t need converter.
