Blake Farrar
okay so i just bought a 170 amp mechman alternator and before my voltage drop was pretty bad but since i got the 170amp alt its got even worse i dont understand what is going on. I have a hifonics brx 1100.1 and 1200.4 but the 1200.4 is only pushing a set of 6.5 component set so it really isnt useing much amps, also i have a stock batt but its only 5 months old at the most. Im also running 1/0 guage power and grounds so if anyone could help me that would be great.
walwalka
You say your voltage drop is worse, but you don't mention any voltages? That were your voltages before the alt and after? How many AH is the stock battery? When I had my 1100.1 I have a small XS XP750 in the back to help the voltage. This was with a stock 80 amp alt. Before the small XS battery I would drop from 14.2v to 13.1 when the bass hit, I had a small the 1100.1 and a F300. After the small xs battery I started at 14.2v and dropped to 13.9v, half the drop I had before with one small battery. Hifonics amps are power hungry, they like to have a reserve of power. David Bailey
Sounds like you need an extra battery in the back. 1 Quote Did you get that scar tissue when you got your vagina installed?
