kvalvik Posted October 18, 2013 Author Report Posted October 18, 2013 looks like you drive bmw e46. You might wanna have subs and port face the trunk, few inches away from the trunk lid. I got a better results from doing that. Also, seal of rear panel with deadener. Correct, i have the model without folding seats. so the trunk is completely closed off from the coupe exept the hole in the middle. I will try turning the box around I have the same thing. Try facing the box to the back of the trunk. well i just went outside and turned the box around at first the problem was completely gone, but then on some songs it came back. I could play the song, and it would play nice and clean, and when i played it again it was jumping all over the place :S maybe if i remove the second sub now, it will play proper?
LoudBimmer Posted October 18, 2013 Report Posted October 18, 2013 you could try moving it closer to the trunk lid, to create a unloading wall for the subs. I had to do this when I ran SAZ2500 (2500rms@1ohm) to my SA's (rated 600rms each). I had a similar box and never had this issue. But I ran my subs at rated power (1200rms)

But I ran my subs at rated power (1200rms) Oh, yea the placement of the subs in that box looks like its exaclty the same as mine regarding the port entry. I also tried to play with the box outside of the trunk. no distrotion or jumping what so ever. But im not sure if im able to place them any closer to the trunk lid. il try building some brackets for the box to sit on, and see what i can do Thankyou man!
kvalvik Posted October 22, 2013 Author Report Posted October 22, 2013 Ok, so the problem came back as soon as i moved the box closer. i now also tried removing the right sub and closing the hole. The problem is still there, but it seems to be different. Now it seems to me that there is only some frequencies the sub dont like. At one song, i can keep the volume at 17 and its as clean as it could get. but then at 18, some frequencies starts jumping. at another song, i kan go all the way up to 22, and then 23 will make it start jumping at some points. I dont understand whats going on :sThe only time the box played perfectly was when i placed it outside the car and hooked it up. Then i didnt get any distortion no matter what i did.
kvalvik Posted October 24, 2013 Author Report Posted October 24, 2013 it still has the same problems with only one sub. i tested alittle today, and it seems to get worse when i drive than when the car is standing still with the engine on. This guy i know said it may have something to do with a ground problem on the amp or the unit. Can that be a possibillity?
