Colin - STAPUFT Posted November 10, 2013 Report Share Posted November 10, 2013 I got 2 EPI / Epicure 110c speakers at a thrift store for $20 for the pair. They have a built in -6db crossover for the mid and tweet. The 8"s on both were shot, but I took a gamble on them just because of the super cool looking inverted dome fabric tweeters. I got on www.partsexpress.com and got 2 replacement 8"s (GRS - inexpensive), made sure the boxes were sealed up really good, cleaned them up, re-attached the speaker grill fabric to the grills, and added a Scan-Speak Aperiodic vent to each box (helps lower box impedance, promotes a more controlled speaker, lessens boominess and on an on).
