customaudioman
you can use a 1 way or 2-way aftermarket alarm. 2- way will alert you when someone is breaking in by paging your remote. all you will need for your truck is a bypass module xpresskits DB-ALL with 401.GM4 v1.09 firmware. you load the firmware by using the xkloader2 by usb from your computer. you can wire the bypass data to data during the install to solder less wires when installing the alarm. here is a 1 way http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_27584_Python-460-Max-P-N-3105P.html here is a 2-way http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_30217_Python-Responder-460-P-N-3305P.html when installing the bypass (DB-ALL)data to data (D2D) you can use your oem remote to arm and disarm the aftermarket alarm. NCRdesigns
A lot of people wire these wrong cause they look at it from the wrong aspect. First off you have factory remotes that lock and unlock your doors and most likely flash your lights etc. The reason people do OEM upgrades is to get the functionality of an alarm off their factory remote and here is how your supposed to connect it. You didn't mention the car it's going in so I'm gonna guess its the silverado in your avatar so you simply hook up the lock and unlock signal off of any door lock actuator or at the bcm to be used as an input on the upgrade alarm so when the locks lock and unlock via factory remote it arms and disarms the aftermarket then you connect each door trigger and hood pin as your triggers and a siren that's it besides your standard power ground and ignition. Once you use your factory key fob it will lock and unlock for you and arm the aftermarket then if any door or trunk is opened it will trigger a full panic! No modules are needed for this install unless you plan to not use the factory remote or are adding a remote start unit "Custom isn't bought its created"
