BuckeyeBasshead
What subs would you buy? I was looking to buy 2 Sa15 I am going to run a hifonics zrx3000.1d 3000 x1 @1ohm 1500 x1 @2ohms and two XS 950.Would you buy two dual 4's and hit them with the 3000 and just turn the gain down or would you go with the dual 2 and just hit them with the 1500 or would you go with a dif Subs altogether? Needs to fit in the trunk of a 2010 civic.

t-money
im not 100% on the trunk size but i would say do one 15 on 1500 watts. so im guessing Dual 4 so you can have a 2 ohm load. 2002 ford focus hatch pioneer DEH-P8400bh infinity kappa 6.5 components front and rear XS Power D1200 Shuriken BT-100 audioque 120.4 2 15 inch audioque HDC3 D2 2 audioque 2200d big 3 mechman 220a alt with external regulator 479-418-3056

BuckeyeBasshead
There"s room for two i'll get some numbers for ya tomorrow when the suns up .As for going with one 15 i think i would go with an x-series @1ohm and let that fucking hifonics rip.Plus one sa15 would not be an upgrade go two 12's now. truthsayer
If you have the room for two 15's, then run 2. I personaly would get DVC 4ohm. That way your final load will be 1ohm. Just make sure you set your HU and Amp properly. AS far as subs that depends on your budget. truthsayer

afrakes
Keep shopping. If budget is an issue get a d4 15 that will take 1500 and run it at 2 ohms. Then when the funds are there get another, drop it to 1 ohm final load and let it wang! Dc lvl 3 or even 4, fi q or bl, the list goes on. thefourth
Don't want to be a downer, but I don't think that Hifonics will put out 3k or even come close to it. And as far as dual 15's back there you're looking at about 6 cubes minimum. Unless you plan on going sealed, then you'd need 5 cubes. I'm not doubting you can fit 2 15's but it is not going to be easy. More than likely it would need to be built inside the trunk. Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do thatI can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream. oh lawd. 81000D
I have sa-15"s and many of my friends and they like about 3.5-40cubs each do not put them in 2.5 ever for ported bro. And if you are clean and carefule thay will take 1500 watts but remember they only have 2.5" coils.
