ok so above is a pic of my notes that I was able to take for my truck..i want to get louder so I was thinking either 2 10's and a 12 or 3 12's..the problem I have is airspace..i only have about 2 cubes of airspace to use so I don't have many options..im pretty sure im going to be using p3slims or kicker cvt's so my question is what do you think my best option is? on the left is pretty much as big as I can go without having to do a blow thru..i kno the box will be wedged shaped so my other question is how much bigger should I make the box from the (a view)..I know I probably sound like a noob and that's because I am lol..so any help is greatly appreciated. thank you

just checked the manual. 12's want 1.25cuft ported (after displacements, so thats like a little more than 3 cubes gross). or 1cuft sealed, each.

10's want 1 cube ported.

edit 2: slim version of anything doesn't make a difference in how much space the woofer needs. the only reason slim design woofers were created, was for depth constraints like in trucks.

can you do magnet out? some subs have huge rubber casings over the magnet that can be removed to fit in a much smaller space. i Cant say what subs are the best. NO VS THREADS! butif your doing a single ten in a 2ft box yes bevented is the way to go!

sundown sd2 10 is 4.75" deep. those need one cube a piece ported. so like 3 cubes gross, to be safe, because port displacements

if you do 19H x 44W x 4.5 top depth and 10 bottom depth, you can get 2.47 cubes. two sd-2's. two 4" ports, each 21" long (i dont know how you'll fit that in there. dont ask me lol)

comes out to be 1.96 cubic feet, tuned to 37hz with 12.8sqin of port per cube.

no bracing. you might want to add some small dowel rods.

edit: circle (aero) ports may be easier than making a slot port. depends though. i dont have much experience with truck boxes.

i would do one good ten in the biggest box he can build. over the summer i seen a dc l ten in 2.5 cubic feet gross box, it was louder than some dual 12s I've heard.

i always hear people saying exactly what the manufacture says as far as box size. but in my experience going bigger sometimes much bigger is better! when i bought my first type r it was in a vented 2 cubic ft box gross 1.5 net) which i think Is exactly what they recommend. a few weeks later i bought a new box. it was 2.5 net 3ft gross(for a single 12) and wow what a huge hug improvement! it was almost twice the sound!I'm being dramatic i know. but for real the lows were so much better deeper just awesome! actually later when i upgraded to 2 12s type rs and the dual box each sub had 1.9ft net and 2.25 gross there wasnt much of a difference. i was a lil louder but not like i thought it was gonna be. that's when i added the second Amp and shit got crazy.
