HPF problem

I have a little problem,

I have a jvc kd-r531 HU with subcontrol

I have 2 rca outputs that are labeled, front and the other one rear/sub,

when I choose sub in the settings, and I get all the subwoofer settings, hz, level etc

everything good so far, sounds nice

when I go to the EQ settings for bass/mid/treble to change the bass-level for the doorspeakers (they are connected directly to the HU)

the volume (gain) on my sub goes down, but in the subw-menus the level is the same, so something is wrong here right?

and the other problem is that when I activate HPF so the low bass cuts out to the speakers the volume goes down on the sub, even when I crank the volume up to 50 (max) the sub isnt making much for the world at all :/

But when I turn off HPF everything sounds great and I have the bass of hell

But the speakers get the low bass and they cant handle it very well :/

I have read the manual and I have done nothing wrong

Any ideas!?

Bro you are doing nothing wrong, dont worry. Any HU will decrease the volume of your sub when you turn down the "BASS" from 0 into the negatives. Typically, with all HU's you should keep that BASS setting at "0"... This gives your door speakers that stable vibration, and it gives your amp that clean signal. What you are going to want to do tho, is go into those detailed settings in the HU, turn your HPF to 100 htz, and set your subwoofer to through. Then go mess with your subwoofer level on the HU to boost up and down your sub, and once again, keep that bass level at 0.

I will definitely check that out but I've got a response from jvc when I asked them, and they say that the sub-output is for jvc amps with high impedance, but if I got a amp with low impedance it doesnt work, I dont know what the hell they are talking about, so I need an expert to explain that to me I know the bass level should be at 0, but i have it on 3, but its because I want a little more bass on a little less volume, dont want to go deaf but I think the front speakers needs to be replaced because the sub always sounds clean at higher volumes but the front speakers dont (the new rear speakers sounds good)
