Alternator problem.

Recommended Posts

I purchased a DC power HP 180 amp alt for my honda civic back in october. It was a christmas gift and I just took the car to the mechanic to have it put on yesterday. He calls me to today and it doesn't fit today, he said that the top ear on the alt where you put the bolt through is wired that the bracket on the block and when he tightens it down it bends the ear. we can put a spacer in, but I'm not sure if that is the right thing to do. I cannot get a hold of DC, I'm just asking for other opinions.

Is there something that I'm missing? Was there supposed to be other parts?

Here is the picture of the alt that I have, the ear on the left is the one that is bending.
