  • hey, new here and wasnt sure if this is the right place to get a hand. I have been following meade for a bit now and have been interested in calibrating my amp to my sub but cant afford something like his porducts. Anyone know of a tutorial of how to do the crossover and distortion with a multi meter?

figure out what volt you need to set it to. ex, 1000w at 1ohm is 31.6 volts. turn your volume 3/4 of the way up all eq on the deck flat. put the red and black wiresfrom the mm into your speaker poutlets on your amp(subs not hooked up!) turn the meter to volts play a 40hz sine wave and Adjust gain until you see the desired volt reading. pm me for Any questions. there's a Lil more than that but there's a 1,000 videos on line how to do it.

That doesn't really work because the amp doesn't see any load with a dmm. So V×?=?.

And that is just VA, not even sure if power factor is an issue with no load on the amp.

Anyway. It will get you close I guess.
