Flatsfisher8 Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 Im new to the smd forum, out of panama city, FL, Currently running two dc level 3 10s on a sundown SAZ-3500d in my 98 ext ranger with a d3400 up front and two d3100s in the back. I have 4 sa 10s laying in the living room and 4 m3 8s in the back room, and i want to do something different. Right now the level 3 10s are just in a simple 5 cube box with a 4" aero tuned @32hz for every day bumpin I want a setup that plays monstrous lows for an ext cab ranger, with a good sq while trying to keep it all at or under the window line Any suggestions?

I'd sell the gear I'm not using (or all of it) and get one insane, or two great subs like the dc xl 15s.. i want your level 3 tens! oh and welcome! seems like you got some good gear, hate when kids post "looking to make my xplods louder!" or "how far should i turn my gain up" jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
Flatsfisher8 Posted January 9, 2014 Author Report Posted January 9, 2014 Hahaha thanks bro, as far as measurements go, i can go up to 50 wide, and about 20 deep, the lower i keep it the more room i have for my seats. I had it walled with an 11 cube box for 4 t1 12s and hated it, it was loud, did a 147 at 29hz and did great on the dc 3.5k, but was uncomfortable and nobody but my tiny girlfriend could fit in the passenger seat. So i want to maximize space but produce monster lows for such a tiny truck. The m3 8s only require .75cbft per which is extremely maintainable, where as the sundowns require a bit more.. But they take double their rms much better than the 8s. The 8s play lows, but they dont like it for too long.. Tends to get smelly lol

Moving more air, and they do tend to cool a little better. The 8s are super impressive, i guess im just stuck on how fast they heat up. Especially if they're already hot from being in an all black truck all day in the sun

Edit: also do you have a upgraded alt? Flatsfisher8 Posted January 10, 2014 Author Report Posted January 10, 2014 Nah i havent upgraded my alt yet, it's on the list of things to do. But with my bass boost all the way down, filters set around 30hz and the gain at 1/2 on a dc 1.2k i was always getting smells out of the m3 8s (only two of the 8s at that time), so i threw the level 3 10s in. A guy made me a sick offer on the 1.2k that i couldnt refuse so i got the saz3500.. Just really want to run the 8s because im limited on space, but i'd rather have the 10s just because they're more for what im planning on doing to them or the 8s.. Which is everyday listening to 26-36hz songs
