The amp could be ran at safer levels for daily, but most assuredly not 7000 watts all day, every day. I've seen db drag competitors state that the amp should NOT be ran below 1 ohm for daily use, whereas for competition (to get full power) they can be ran down to .25 or so depending on impedence rise. That's where the slight design flaws would come into play, on a daily basis. Fine for 3 seconds, ok for 30 seconds, but I wouldn't trust that thing full tilt for 5 minutes at a time. And when I mean full tilt, I mean full power. Not "full tilt" with 1/10th gain producing 2000 watts. I think we are getting confused are we talking 2K6D or the 7KD? i don't think there is any company that will do 7000watts for 10min on a regular system, no big 3 or 0 gauge wire, people would blow theres shit up, alpine has 0 gauge in his truck but only has a stock alt. which i'm impressed, i think everyone knows if you want any high # out of an amp well you have to have a good battery, upgraded alt ,the BIG 3, and a couple of runs 0 gauge, You don't have to take our advise take it from a 9X Champion that says the same thing as we do,that played it well over a 1 hour straight... ask him about the power draw and all the questions you want. This back and fourth shit is not helping anyone, Or how about i order you one and then you can come up with all your test results.... I have no intentions of purchasing a stetsom amplifier. I have no use for it and am not going to waste my time and money testing it. Of course no amp will do 7000 watts on a stock electrical system, that wasn't the point. The point is that I don't think that amp is capable of such power levels for any sustained period of time. I know plenty of amps that can do their RATED power (the 7kd is rated for 7000 watts afterall) for daily. That's the point I was trying to make. my biggest beef with the stetsom amps is the few design issues like the internal fusing and the undersized power terminals.
