devanb3 Posted January 12, 2014 Report Posted January 12, 2014 so here's my issue about 3 years ago i bought 2 earthquake DBXI 10D for my scion tC.. I had them in a 2 cu foot ported box and eventually put them in 2 sep cubby fiberglass sealed boxes. i Currently own a 2013 toyota tacoma double cab that i have a temp sealed box with both in just chillin in the back seat... i want to build a new box making more of a console style that will sit in the center section of the back seat with both subs firing downwards. im looking for any help making this look as clean as possible while being able to still remove it if needed. these subs will not fit behind or under seat so that is out of the question also i would rather not remove seats... i have experience with fiberglass and am not afraid of it... also i would like this to be ported and tooned to about 35-40 hz. thanks any ideas would be great.....
devanb3 Posted January 13, 2014 Author Report Posted January 13, 2014 i will try to get dimensions of back seat and all in the morning and i will also post pics of the back seat area (to give better idea of what there is to work with)
devanb3 Posted January 13, 2014 Author Report Posted January 13, 2014 ok here are the pics of the seating area and dimensions available you should be able to see what im referring to with dimensions from the pics if not just ask Center seat width 12 in distance from seat to console (top) 6 in distance from back of seat to console 23.5 in distance from bottom of seat to bottom of console 10 in stay around 9 in to keep plenty of room for floor vent ( like to put port in that area if possible) seat height would like to stay below 14 in closer to 12-13 range distance from floor to top of seat (from highest point on floor) 10 in distance from floor to farthest point on console (from highest point on floor) 11.5 in the recommended box sizes are as follows for bass head design for comp (with port) 1.14-1.5 cu ft per sub for port tuned design .8-1.25 cu ft for sealed .77-1 cu ft if you need any other dimensions let me know and also i threw in a quick sketch of what i'm thinking top or top and sides will be fiberglass... i would much rather put subs inside box or facing downwards but not sure how to with this setup and not sure where/how to port this crazy box.. disregard all dimensions on this horrible sketch
rsxguy Posted February 1, 2014 Report Posted February 1, 2014 Ive been wanting to do the same thing I got an 07 double cab tacoma have you figured anything out yet
775Tundra Posted February 1, 2014 Report Posted February 1, 2014 I had a 2006 Tacoma dc. 3 rf p3 shallows behind the seat with a p1000-1bd. Sounded awesome. Do a flush trim ring around the subs and lay some fiberglass to make it look neat. Have it wrapped in black vinyl. 2003 Tahoe dc 7.5k dc level 5 15's (3) MMats 341's xs power batts lots of sky high cable dual alts(came off the sky-high gmc and don't know who made them) ipad in center console vu-din in center console all being ripped out and being sold
devanb3 Posted April 8, 2014 Author Report Posted April 8, 2014 couldnt do a behind seat with my subs they are too big.... so ive got this basic sketch that im going with top and sides with be fiberglass it will be rounded out on both top and sides... subs will fire back into the seat ( im doing and offset piece to get subs off of seat) now my big question now is what is the best way to do a port... im thinking a slotted port in the very bottom by the feet to either the front or one of the sides not sure how to go about this though or what the best dimensions would be im going for a 35-40 hz tuning frequency
