I have a question I have been searching for answers and recommendations for a while now: I have a Kicker ZX400.1, it has a terminal that can accept up to a 0Guage wire, but I am using an 8Guage kit because I don't really need the 0 in my application. I don't think this amp would benefit that much from the upgraded wire.( I know it would a little bit). My question is this, to make this connection what is the recommendation? a.) Just stip back the 8 guage and screw it into the terminal. b.) Strip the 8guage and tinn the end, then screw it into the terminal. c.) what I did, Crimp and solder on a ring terminal then cut off the ring and insulation, then screw into the terminal.
