James Harrison Posted January 25, 2014 Report Posted January 25, 2014 Im looking to upgrade my front stage in my 06 GMC Envoy. I have 8" factory holes in the front doors that i recently got a pair of MW172's for. Looking for suggestions based on experiences for what to mate them with. I would like to be able to use the factory dash holes that accomodate up to a 3.5" speaker without modding. At least i think they do. Let me know if you have experience to the contrary with that vehicle. And tweets either in the pillars or flushed into the plastic panel that covers the dash speakers that fire upwards into the windshield. And i need to measure again but i think the trim ring around the door handle has enough dead space to flush up to a 3" speaker into with under 1" of depth. Maybe the Hertz ML700.2 X 4? one in each door and two in the dash? Or 4 of the morel cdm880's? Im using the 360.3 and have some pretty decent amps to drive the speakers with. Should have lots of headroom with any setup. Willing to dump about $800 into this. And i plan to gut the whole truck and deaden it while i do this on my vacation. The goal is to get stupid loud and sound great doing it, im not out to win any trophies but do want awesome clarity and detail on demand.
