Running 0 Gauge from battery to a distribution block to 4 gauge from block to amps. My question is, how do you know how many amps to use for your system. I went into a customs shop to by the breaker they are building my future box to hold 6 JL 12w's. I never did ask the question of "How do you know how big of a circuit breaker I will need" Im currently only running off of two Lanzar HTG 447's. I haven't connected the 0 gauge to the block yet since I am waiting for my block to actually come in the mail. Is it safe to connect my wire to my block and run 4 gauge to my two current amps? Or will it be too much power for my amps? Really two questions here, would be appreciated if you could answer them both and give your opinions. Thanks!
afrakes Posted January 27, 2014 Report Posted January 27, 2014 Bigger wire is just an improvement to current flow. U could have 12 runs of 1/0 going to a 500 watt amp and its safe.
