I have a 2001 Cadillac Eldorado ETC, and I'm looking towards buying 2 Sundown SA 12's. I'm making a ported box myself tuned to about 32hz. My question is, what amp would you suggest i should buy? im not looking to go full blown competition mode on this and get like a 4k watt amp. But i dont want to settle for minimum power because i know these things can bump. My brother told me i would need to get around a 4k watt amp, run 0 gauge wires, get a high output alternator and some extra batteries. 0 gauge wiring not much of a hassle, neither is the extra battery or 2, which i was going to buy eventually. But my concern is do i really need to get a better alternator? I know a 250a alternator can help push even more power. But do i really need it? And what amp would you suggest i buy. I was looking at a 2000 watt Hifonics Brutus amp. Let me know any suggestions. Thanks.

jarrius Posted February 8, 2014 Report Posted February 8, 2014 IMO 2x SA12'sd4 Ct sounds 900/soundqubed 1200/rf prime 1200, If you know what your doing use these amps Ct sounds 1400/soundqubed 2200 or any good 2k 2-3 xs power d3400's And 1/0 shca wire. Aj11 Posted February 9, 2014 Report Posted February 9, 2014 no matter what do the big 3. a good amg bat upfront and in the rear would power any 2k system nicely. check to see what your stock alt puts out. if its over 130amps it will do for now.not saying dont upgrade but its not the first thing on your list. if i were you i would do big 3 with 0g, 0g wiring kit, 2 sa 12s in at least 4cubic feet net tuned at 30-35hz, sound deadner your whole trunk. as far as Amp I'd go ct 1400.1 why? because that's what i did and i love it! i have a 136amp stock Alt with 2 bats and i dont drop below 13.2 volts even tho my bat under the hood sucks jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
