Firing up vintage amps.

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I recently purchased a 1998 Infinity 102a.

Im wanting to eventually use this amp in an old school project.

I took the guts out and everything seems ok, but ive never had an amp older than 2 years old.

Are there any precautions I should take before I just start plugging everything up? I do plan on getting some canned air and cleaning the boards out.

All help is appreciated.

Jeff.

Meh- I say clean it a bit if you feel froggy....

Check for swollen up capacitors, toasty spots, etc... check your fuses to make sure that the connections are clean, and make sure your power, ground, remote and speaker hook ups are clean. Otherwise- let 'er rip tater chip!
