Home system cabinets

Recommended Posts

Hey, I decided to build my friend a sound system for his room/living room when he moves. It's comprised of:

two sets of Lanzar MAX MX62's (6 1/2")

one pair of Lanzar MAX MX693 (6x9")

two 2" flared ports for the 6x9's

a BOSS 822UA double-din deck (40w rms x 4)

4x push terminals, one 4 terminal block

and a 300w rms ACtoDC converter.

UMSzDFS.jpg(Sorry about the quality and lighting, it's from my phone and the room's lighting is terrible)

The designs for the cabinets so far are:

top/bottom - 10.75"x12.75"
front/back - 12"x24"
sides - 10.75"x22"
divider - 10.75x12.75"
top section - .8 ft^3
bottom section - .52 ft^3 tuned at 40hz
Is this too little/too big at all? I'm dividing the 6x9 from the pair of 6 1/2"s in each cabinet, it'll probably look like this

Anything useful would be greatly appreciated.

Curious why you would use 6x9's and those 6.5's. Why not seperates? Like a 8'' woofer, 6.5 mid and a tweeter. Also those lanzar's are extremely power hungry. Tried a set a few yrs back in my truck, even when amp'd they didn't thump or get loud.

As far as the box goes. i think i would just stack them straight up and down. Good luck
