cadence cap50f do you have to use the amp out connections to use it?

Ive got one of these and was wondering will it work like a regular cap and just run the 0gauge inputs or do I have to use its amp connections for it to work. I know on most caps you can just tie them into your power close to your amp and there is no amp out connections. And if I do then this thing is worthless with just 4 gauge amp connections. And just for anyone wondering I am not relying on a cap. I have dual dc 270 xp alts and four optima 1000 cca batts. All big three done and then some. Its going to a dd m4 running 1 ohm and a boston gt42 on mids and highs ( my xtant is having some service done so I can get it back in).
