Help with 2002 Impala

Ok this is a first for me. I am lost with this one. I am trying to get a couple kicker subs in my sons 2002 Chevrolet Impala. We are using the factory head unit due to RDS and all the complications it brings removing it. That means we had to use a line converter. I am using the rear 6x9 speaker wires since we removed them. Amp is a Sound Ordinance M1350. It played great and sounded great for about 2 minutes and it went dead. Amp still has power and is on, subs work fine in my truck so I know they are still wired correctly. I thought the line converter was bad so we bought another one and it still will not come on.

Tomorrow I plan to run a set of long RCAs from my truck stereo to his amp and see if it plays. I really feel like there is an issue with the signal and everything else is fine. I don't know how to test the rear speaker wires with my multimeter to verify signal but I am researching that now. (AC or DC and range)

Does anyone have another lead I should check first or do you think I am on the right track with my troubleshooting? Any and all advice will be appreciated.
