r33
Hey, I have just installed a 12" kicker comp-rt, it came in the sealed kicker enclosure. connected to a kicker kx 800.1 mono amp. I Wanted to see how a ported enclosure would sound with this sub. Its in a 2010 mazda bt-50 single cab ute/truck. There isnt much room behind my seat but my measurements allowing sub excursion are top - 8cm (3.14") bottom 24cm (9.44") width - 70cm (27.55") height - 50cm (16.6") and the subs specs are vas - 81.709 fs - 25.2128 qms - 7.13 qes - .5574 qts - .5166 xmax - 12.64mm Ive tried a few box calculators but there port designs use the L ports which in my case would be very tight due to the limited space at the top. I was thinking maybe I could run the port at the bottom of the box or somewhere else. Also, would it be better facing the sub towards the cab wall with the back of the box hard up against the back of the seat or sub facing forwards with the front angled with the back of the seat allowing room for excursion? Most if not all of you would have more knowledge than me in this area, so I was just looking at getting some help with this one.
