Terra Rysing Posted June 5, 2014 Report Posted June 5, 2014 Due to family I have been out of the game for a while. Back in the day I ran 4 stroker 15's pushed by 4 DEI 1100d's. Ported boxes were just starting to take off and shocker audio was king. They had just introduced a quad coil coming off the success of the Mice. I am thinking about competing again but really want to just have a ground pounder to drive to the office in. I have a trailblazer and I have just taken out the crappy bose system and installed a kenwood component set up front and coaxials in the rear. Those are being pushed off a old school pioneer amp. I have read about sundown, skar, and obsidian. I am currently thinking about two 15" obsidians or two 15sa's. I have a leftover dei 1100d I will start off using. I have also considered buying 4 kenwood 12's and running them in a sealed box, I can get them for 200$. I am not thrilled about paying close to 500$ for two sa15's. That is why I am leaning towards the obsidians. The box cannot slide up to the rear seat because I need to be able to attach 2 car seats to the teathers, so without a wall I am about 10.5 cubic feet before displacement. That is 5" away from the rear tailgate. I plan on subs up port out the back. Appreciate any advice, thanks.
Joe Hagerty Posted June 10, 2014 Report Posted June 10, 2014 Tbh I wouldn't do the kenwoods just cuz I've had a Kenwood setup before nd yea their pretty good subs but they r walmart brand compared to sundown nd skar if it was me I'd go wit the sundowns or if ur not wanting to pay a lot for good quality check out soundqubed that's wat I'm doin in my Vic nd trust me they slam their entry level subs (HDS200) r 600rms 1200peak their 129 for 15s I believe nd just above them n class (HDS300) r 1200rms nd 2400peak they r 199 for 15s jus an option for u good luck man
