exc500 Posted June 8, 2014 Report Share Posted June 8, 2014 Just seeing if anyone else has had any issues with their headunit cutting out when vehicle is not running. I have I believe its a metra on star plus factory wiring harness. I know the problem is in somewhere either the black box or the relays that go with this harness. When my truck is not running if I turn the volume up my radio cuts out. Im pretty shure its not a voltage drop problem seeing as I have two optima 1000ca batterys and the factory wiring other than my radio is totally isolated from my amps. Ive got four more optimas and dual dc xp270 alts. One dc alt just runs my truck and a couple factory accessory' s . Ive tryed changing head units and problem still exists. Im running a rather decent system but eaven end with just a small amp it will still have the problem. Everything works fine once truck is running but when its not and in just acc mode it cuts in and out like either a bad ground or loss of voltage. Anyone ever had this problem before?
