jacobS Posted June 21, 2014 Report Share Posted June 21, 2014 hey guys, i'm a pretty avid box builder, but this is my first 18' box. i currently have 1 dc lvl 4 18' and plan to get another soon. i am pushing my current 18" with a hifonics 2500 watt amp, still decided whether to sell it and buy a bigger one or just use it for the 2. but what would be a good size/ tuning for the box? 1998 2 door tahoe Subs: 2 DC lvl4 18"s Mids/highs: nendo pwx 8" and 2 sets of 6.5" mezzo's Amps: hifonics 2500.1d & hifonics 1200.4 & RF 600.2 145.8 seald up in the kick. Tuning will be your music preferences, desired outcome of build(burp box, daily box, etc).. jacobS Posted June 22, 2014 Author Report Share Posted June 22, 2014 i listen to rap when i demo, but mostly older rap like "lil jon" and country music. i have up to 22" height 48" width and 32" depth. slot port. and still deciding on the amp. i currently have a hifonics 2500.1 on my single 18". i just ordered another battery (XS 3400) and will get more or a bigget alt if needed. i got on re box calc (i know, it's not the best.) and i got a design going at 11 cubes tuned to 29 htz 1998 2 door tahoe Subs: 2 DC lvl4 18"s Mids/highs: nendo pwx 8" and 2 sets of 6.5" mezzo's Amps: hifonics 2500.1d & hifonics 1200.4 & RF 600.2 145.8 seald up in the kick. Cj Kumz Posted June 22, 2014 Report Share Posted June 22, 2014 If you have only 11 cubes to work with after all displacements and your 2 subs require 11 cubes at 1400 rms each it would be much better to get a bigger amp. Are you subs dual 1 or 2 ohm? Vw Polo Pioneer Deh-6050UB Sundown Saz-3500d DD Audio 9500 15'' 5.5 cubic feet box with 10 inch port @ 38hz I live to hear the Bass drop!!!
