The amp (only the amp for the subwoofer mind you) triggers protect mode as soon as i cut the ignition and the car is electrical only (only the amp for the subwoofer mind you). My setup is as follows: Oz Matrix components up front. Kicker DS 6x9's in the rear. Alpine MRP-F300 powering components/6x9's (this remains unaffected by this issue...will play from aux power.) Kenwood DDX371 HU. Knuconcept 4 gauge wiring kit. 150amp kicker ACL fuse. Kicker CX.1200.1 powering a single dual 4 ohm L7 12" in a ported box XS Power D925 in the trunk. Interstate Battery up front. Stock 105 amp alternator. Have NOT done big 3. I get 12.6-8v with the ignition off. Any ideas? Fuses look good.

l1ve2l1sten Posted June 27, 2014 Author Report Posted June 27, 2014 I should also add that there was a brief period of time when i had my amp unplugged for a few days and installed the new head unit (two days ago) that it would play with the ignition off. Back to square one now though. This has been an ongoing issue with this amp and the 2 amps preceding it.

Or jumping power with a toggle? Your best bet is to just trace down all of your wiring first, maybe you've crossed your wires without knowing. The amp works perfectly with the ignition in the "On" position? And only trouble when turned back to accessory?

With the ign running acc. or in the on position but without the engine running it does not want to give it the green light.

With the ign running acc. or in the on position but without the engine running it does not want to give it the green light. How are you measuring your voltage? Maybe your battery is actually throwing low enough voltage out that your amp is saying no without it running.
truthsayer Posted June 27, 2014 Report Posted June 27, 2014 Sounds like a simple problem, you dont have the enough power to run the amp with the car off. So the car has to be running, therefor relying on the alternator to give the battery some juice. You need to upgrade your battery, and depending on the power your running you may need to have an HO alt. More power truthsayer
