Ritch40
i am willing to bet that one of the mosfets or intergrated circuits took a dump on you. i would look at the underside though.....you might get lucky and find a bad connection (though i very much doubt it)
REH
Took a quick second stab at it, shook it all around and no rattles to it at all. Discharged the caps as suggested and tried again, same result. As soon as you put power to it, you get a quick green light, which switches to red (Protect) almost instantly. I tried to take the board completely out of the heatsink, removed all of the screws and it doesn't just come out... I'm assuming that these things will have to be pried open to allow it to slide out? If anyone has any input on that, throw it at me. But I looked over everything on that top side of the board and absolutely nothing has any type of burn marks, or swelling that I can tell. And nothing loose at all to the touch. Also, doubt it would make any difference at all as it probably just pulls power straight off the inputs before anything else in the amp and would work either way but the stupid logo does still light up. REH
Been a couple days, but I took everything apart... checked the underside of the board, nothing out of the ordinary. Rechecked the top side, touched everything... nothing loose. Cleaned everything up, put back together... same result. Put power to it, quick green power light that goes instantly to red. I'm out of ideas, definitely sure it's toasted somewhere... But just can't actually see where or what happened with the damn thing like I was hoping to see. Chalking it up to random catastrophic failure of a cheaply made amp at this point. If only it would have continued to last until I actually had the cash for an upgrade instead of leaving me down and out for a while. For any of those curious, Here's a bunch of pictures I took with my phone while it was all the way torn down.
