Gmansontos Posted August 16, 2014 Report Posted August 16, 2014 I have read when building slot port boxes that you need to have between 12-16 square inches of port opening per square foot of box volume. And be closer to 12 square inches if tuning low or closer to 16 square inches if tuning high. Ok first question is...is this information correct? Second question is...in relation to port opening to box volume, do I need to subtract port volume from box total volume when using that relation? Third question is...I have also read something about Xmax of a subwoofer in relation to slot port openings, can someone explain this too and how it plays a role in the opening?
