chad190 Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 okay, I have quite a few questions. My current system consists of: 2 HDS312's, Soundqubed 1200.1, stock sized interstate battery (I think it's a b57?), big 3 with xscorpion 1/0, and 4 gauge sky high for power/ground to amp. Also, I have the stock 102 amp alternator. Voltage sits at 13.8 and doesn't drop below 12.2 at idle. is that too low? This amp just isn't big enough for these subs. So I was wondering what would be recommend/required electrical to run two AQ1200's @2 ohms? The subs are D4 so I'd more than likely run each sub at 2 ohms. I was looking at the mechman 270 amp alt. Would that be enough to run that kind of set up? Aslo, would I be able to keep that same interstate battery? I drive half an hour to and from school and work, so it would be at full tilt for quite a while almost every day. 2006 Monte Carlo Pioneer DEH-80PRS 2 SSA ZCON 12's 5 Cube Box tuned to 32 Hz Soundqubed 3500.1 PAC LC-1 Singer 320 Amp Alt XS D3100 & Kinetik HC2400 in trunk Super Start AGM Under Hood 80ft+ Sky High 1/0 40 ft^3 120mil sky high deadener Soundqubed Pro Audio 6.5" mids Soundqubed Super Tweeters Alpine 1" Tweeters Alpine MRP-F300
Guest Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 270 amp alt would be fine for 2500w. by the way dont play full tilt while idling on a stock alt.
chad190 Posted August 28, 2014 Author Report Posted August 28, 2014 Okay, and just upgrading alt should do the trick? And thanks! 2006 Monte Carlo Pioneer DEH-80PRS 2 SSA ZCON 12's 5 Cube Box tuned to 32 Hz Soundqubed 3500.1 PAC LC-1 Singer 320 Amp Alt XS D3100 & Kinetik HC2400 in trunk Super Start AGM Under Hood 80ft+ Sky High 1/0 40 ft^3 120mil sky high deadener Soundqubed Pro Audio 6.5" mids Soundqubed Super Tweeters Alpine 1" Tweeters Alpine MRP-F300
RainStryke Posted August 31, 2014 Report Posted August 31, 2014 You will also want a AGM battery and possibly a second smaller one if you are upgrading the alternator.
