hershy314
This is driving me crazy but two of the three usb ports don't seem to properly. I have two USB 2.0 ports and a 3.0 port. The 3.0 seems to work with anything I plug into it. The 2.0 ports just don't seem to work. I plugged in a mouse, and a external hard drive into both 2.0 ports and nothing. The light comes on for the hard drive but nothing shows up in the "this pc" page. The mouse wont work unless it's plugged in the 3.0 port. This is a fairly new computer, I just got back in February. It's running windows 8.1. The computer is a Toshiba C75D-A7130 laptop. I'm looking around to see if I can't find a solution, but another pair of eyes or a smarter brain would help. I did call Toshiba but the phone support was going to cost $15, didn't have $15. I did upgrade the memory so I'm sure that voided the warranty. So what could cause the 2.0 ports to stop working but the 3.0 still work fine? http://athphotography.deviantart.com/ http://www.youtube.com/user/hershy314
Facekicker
I would try this first: http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/tc70178300a.exe If that doesn't work I would imagine it's this: http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/TC00558500I.exe 3.0 USB uses a different driver, so you're likely missing the 2.0 drivers. If you can find the 2.0 controller in Device Manager and completely remove it, it may automatically find the appropriate driver on reinstall. 2002 Monte Carlo Started a build log Fi, DC, Mechman, XS Power
hershy314
Thanks for the help, but didn't work. I ended up resetting it back to where it was new. That has seemed to fix the problem (so far). http://athphotography.deviantart.com/ http://www.youtube.com/user/hershy314
