Calling all Spotify users....equalizers, sound quality, volume, etc

I love Spotify's quality, compared to Pandora and amazon. You can even change it to stream at a higher quality. My personal experience using the Spotify equalizer is that it would take away some "volume" from the music. I noticed this occurring within the first split second of the song when switching to a new song it'd be loud the ease back. So I now leave it off and tune through my headunit. I just got an epicenter and im in process of building a nice SQ setup for daily listening. Interested in seeing what the epicenter may do with Spotify vs the stored music on my phone and ipod.
