whteglve Posted November 4, 2014 Report Posted November 4, 2014 I haven't messed with car audio in several years, before CANbus controls. I have a 2007 Cadillac STS with the 15 speaker Bose factory system. I really like the way it sounds except the bass is lacking. I was told by one shop that all I needed to do was to add a mini-amp rated for more power and keep the factory sub. I've had another shop tell me that I had to have a more powerful amp as well as replacing the sub with a box with two 12's. I'm not looking to be a ground pounder or compete. I just want more bass than the Bose system puts out. Any pointers?
Jeff4661 Posted November 5, 2014 Report Posted November 5, 2014 Well first off I am a ground pounder.. but as well as that i understand the balance of bass over mids and highs.. I'd say a single 10 or 12 in a sealed box will probably do everything you want and more. You can buy an output converter and tap into the rear speakers to get your RCA signal. Does this help?
