bass 4 love Posted March 31, 2008 Report Share Posted March 31, 2008 I have a power acoustik 1.0 farad and i'm pushing six 12's with it but under my hood i have a 160amp alternator and a yellow top battery do i need to boost up my capacitor or i dont need it at all!! Decaf Posted March 31, 2008 Report Share Posted March 31, 2008 i dont even know what boosting is... but.... ud be better off getting the same yellow top and getting rid of the cap it only works in the first .05seconds, then its discharged, and then ur alt has to provide power for the amp, battery and cap so after a quick kick drum, id be the same as not having a cap at all mind you, it does recharge quick but (1) kinetik hc800 is 200 times more powerful (storage capacity) than a 1 farad capacitor Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
