bcharlsen Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 I just bought a 08 maxima. it has bose stereo and for now i am rolling with the stock headunit and upgrading my front components and rear door speakers. i was wounder if there is a website that has a wiring diagram on what wire is positive and witch one is neg. Also in the rear deck i think there is two subs or mid bass drivers. no idea what size they are and really don't want to take it apart just to find out what they are. any help would be awesome! thank you
Audioholic Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 The rear speakers with the bose system are 6×9's. I just took my bose in the same vehicle as your out to upgrade ,that factory bose is really nice.
choicewhitemeat Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 You are in for a world of headaches with that Bose system. With that Bose system, you have a separate amp either underneath the rear deck. The Bose speakers/amp operate at 1ohm which makes finding aftermarket speakers very difficult. Basically standard aftermarket speakers usually run at 4 ohms meaning they would greatly limit the output of the stock bose amp. The speakers in the rear deck are either 8" or 6x9" subs by the way. You have to climb in your trunk and see for yourself. 6th gens came with both and there is no way to tell which ones you have without looking. bcharlsen Posted February 26, 2015 Author Report Posted February 26, 2015 So you're saying I need to get a amp instead of running off the bose amp?
