Thank you for finally getting some replies guys! I am glad to see that I am not the only one that has been trying to make this work.

However, it does not seem that there is one simple answer.

I see that I am going to have to do some playing around with different sources of bass.

I like the idea of running a simple tiny amp, off of the RCA outs (pass through) of a sub amp, and start with the gain at ZERO, low pass, crossover set down all the way (most amps start at 50hz), with my music playing at max unclipped volume, then G.R.A.D.U.A.L.Y. turning up the gain until I get the lights to pulse with the bass.

If I am sucessfull, I will bead blast the amp's housing, remove the crossover knob and CA glue it at 50hz, do the same to the gain and the low pass switch, then come up with a name and a logo and market that shit, since I am not the only one looking for this effect.
