This amp was rated at 40W into 4 ohms so it could "cheat" in the competition classes (classes were divided by 4 ohm mfg amp ratings at the time). The amp was also rated to do 600W at 2 ohms or 1200W at 1 ohm. This is a Class A/B amp and Earthquake recommended (3) aux batteries if you used it at 1 ohm! I measured it to pull almost 170A of current at 1 ohm...do you think it did 1200W?
