Courage Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 Hi, I started a budget build on my 1989 suburban. I got 2 kicker l5's for a good price and some 6x9s. I put the 6x9s in the far back, the subs back there as well. Now I ran into a problem.. the only speakers I can put up front are the little 3.5" speakers in the dash, can't put anything in the doors because power windows take up to much space. Will the little 3.5s balance the system enough to sound decent? I'm not a big fan of the big pods on the doors. Any ideas guys?
RainStryke Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 It's up to you and your preference. With just 3.5" in the front, you are not going to have much mid bass. I'd just upgrade the 3.5's in the front and maybe toss a cheap 4 channel amplifier on the speakers and see how you like the set-up before having to customize your doors or kick panels.
gdaigle Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 I'd at least try to do some door pods or kick panels with some nice 6.5s. Really just depends on what u want out of it. I take this burb offroad a lot, I'm scared a big pod sticking out from the door might get in the way
