06cbrboy Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 Ok here are a coulple of pictures of what i have planned for my 18 build. I also have a few questions. One of those questions is where the sub is going to be mounted i have 19.5 inches to mount the 18, will this mount or will the screw pattern hang over this amount. basically i dont know if the basket is "18" inches or what ever it is. Pretty much just looking for comments from box builders and people who know if this enclosure will fit the sub and sound good. Any ideas or critisism is encouraged. I used the RE box builder. Then you’re good. 18”s can really flex a sheet of wood when they get moving. Then you’re good. 18”s can really flex a sheet of wood when they get moving. yeah i planned on double baffel and planned on bracing it but cant really figure out what to use. Allthread sounds good but it wont look too good coming out the top and sides. I also thought about using som 1x2 and making a H shape and putting that on the big open walls. Quote

When I had my Q18 I double baffled it and braced the inside with 2x3s. Didn't have any flex at all. I had my single Q setup on a kicker zx1000.1, then on a MTX TA92001 @ 2ohms for about 2 months. Took 2K RMS all day in a 8.8 cube box. Gotta love Fi..
